Komodo Island is a national
park in Indonesia, where the Komodo National Park is located between the
islands of Sumbawa and Flores in the eastern Indonesian archipelago.
Administratively included in regional Komodo district, West Manggarai regency,
East Nusa Tenggara Province. In 1915 the Dutch government set the island of
Komodo as a conservation area for Komodo. In 1986, the Komodo National Park was
declared a World Heritage Site and Biosphere Reserve (World Biosphere Reserve)
by UNESCO. And to be an asset for Indonesia travel.
Komodo National Park is
located in Wallacea. Wallacea region formed by the meeting of two continents
that form the unique sequence of volcanic islands, and consists of a mix of
birds and other animals from both continents Australia and Asia. The island
itself is 1817 square kilometers. In this conservation area, 2,500 dragons live
scattered in several areas of the main island of Komodo, such as; Rinca, Padar
and Gili Mota. Komodo dragon habitat is outdoors with savanna grasslands,

In this area, we can find other animals such as horses, wild buffalo, deer,
wild boar male, snakes, monkeys, and various species of birds.
Komodo reptile itself is a
kind of giant carnivorous lizards that can reach 2-3 meters and weigh 100-165
kg. This animal has a scientific name Varanus komodoensis, while the local
people call this beast as the 'Ora'. If seen, the Komodo dragon creepy, with a
great body, sharp nails, scaly skin and has a forked tongue always stuck out.
The main prey dragons are pigs, horses, deer, raccoons, buffalo and monkeys.

Komodo
National Park also has the amazing underwater life. Divers claim that Komodo
island is one of the best dive sites in the world. With a view of the bottom of
the sea where there are 385 species of beautiful corals, mangroves and sea
grass, as well as home to thousands of fish, 70 species of sponges, 10 dolphin
species, six species of whales, green turtles and various species of sharks and
stingrays. The combination of a variety of vegetation in the park provide a good
environment for different types of animals in this area.
There
are four villages in the Park. Komodo Island has one villages namely Komodo;
Rinca island has two villages, Rinca and Kerora and Papagarang island has one
village, the village Papagaran. This location can be reached from Kupang, Ende
and then boarded a plane to be forwarded by minibus to Labuan Bajo city for 10
hours of travel, then we will go to Komodo Island by speed boat for 2 hours.
Most
tourists who visit the park are foreign tourists, which they call a national
park is a "world unto itself". As far as the eye can see, there are
