From day to day more and more technology companies are
developing robots like an animal. If there is a spot, a robot dog-like animals
made by Google, now there is another animal robot named Eelume.
Eelume is artificial snake robot company Statoil, Kongsberg Maritime, and the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). According Liljeback Pal, head of the development team Eelume, this robot is their first venture into the world to bring the snake robot industry.
Eelume have special technology which allows it to swim alone. Full body 'ruas'nya make Eelume can swim in the water like a sea serpent, even from far away many who thought Eelume is the original snake.
Although still the production phase and has not been sold to the public, developers Eelume sure the snake robot could help many industries to treat or special tools in the waters, such as underwater cable.
"Eelume can be permanently installed in the bottom of the water and carry out inspections and unscheduled maintenance on a particular component," said Kongsberg.
Thanks to this function, Eelume predicted to reduce the high costs to be incurred for the treatment of underwater technology, which of course is much more difficult than on the mainland. (Independent)
